Which workout is right for you?

Exercise is medicine but too much exercise can be harmful to your health. It’s not always worth it to push yourself past your limits. If you over do it, instead of just being toned and having a good bodily enthusiasm, you may become exhausted, and exhaustion can result in disease. In Western medicine, this is called Overtraining Syndrome, which can lead to a weakened immune system, among other imbalances. In other words, just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.

So how much exercise is ideal?

If you have an idea of what your maximum output for exercise is, your regular daily exercise should be at half of that amount. For example, if you know you can run continuously for one hour, you should run for a half hour only. If you go beyond that point, you are dipping into the body’s vitality rather than helping the body to become active and strong.

WHICH WORKOUT IS right FOR YOU?

The type of exercise you need is dependent on your Mind-Body Type because each type has a different metabolic rate (how fast you spend energy). Click here to find out your Mind-Body Type if you don’t know it yet.

AIR TYPES: IF YOU’RE SLIM, ANXIOUS AND/OR DRY SKIN

Air types are naturally energetic and love to exercise. They enjoy fast-paced workouts like dancing, cardio, running. However, people belonging to this type have a smaller body frame, weak digestive system, a lower weight and an easily anxious mind which fast-paced movement only aggravates!

💨 So the ideal workout for them is anything that slows them down, builds muscle & bones and balance their energy. AIR dominant people should focus on form rather than speed.

💨 What to do: Slow, strength training like lunges, squats, resistance band training, yoga and low-intensity exercises.

💨 Avoid: bootcamp, marathons etc.

FIRE TYPES: IF YOU’RE ATHLETIC, HOT TEMPERED AND/OR COMPETITIVE

Fire individuals are naturally athletic, they have warm body temperatures and strong stamina. They love exercises that push their bodies’ limits like boot-camps, boxing, Crossfit and weight lifting exercises. 🔥 The ideal workout for them is anything that caters to their athletic nature without increasing their body temperature or competitive mind like swimming or pilates.

🔥 What to do: Yin yoga, pilates, swimming, walking, yoga, skiing, surfing, climbing, cycling. Perform medium pace and moderate-intensity exercises.

🔥 Avoid: hot yoga, competitive racing, mid-day workouts

EARTH TYPES: IF YOU’RE FEELING UNMOTIVATED AND/OR GAIN WEIGHT EASILY

Earth types have bigger frames, great physical strength but tend to be lazy and gain weight easily. It is quite difficult to motivate them to move their bodies but when they do, they are thankful after.

🐾 The ideal workout for them is fast-paced exercises to stay healthy and fit.

🐾 What to do: Jogging, tabata, HIIT, plyometrics, rowing, Zumba and cardio exercises. Group activity is the best option as it keeps them motivated.

🐾 Avoid: yin yoga, gentle walking

BEST TIME TO WORK OUT is between 6-10AM because that’s when you have the most strength and endurance.

♥️ EXERCISE DURING YOUR MONTHLY CYCLE

Working out increases AIR and FIRE qualities in people so working out during your monthly cycle could lead to aggravated pain and heavy bleeding. Stretching or meditation over strenuous activity is recommended during your periods.
